Position Overview:

The Project Financial Controller is a pivotal role within our Finance Department, tasked with overseeing the financial management of projects by monitoring major KPIs. The incumbent will play a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and transparency of each project through meticulous monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder management. This role requires someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a keen understanding of both project management and finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Analysis:

  • Monitor the financial health of projects using KPIs like Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Cash Collection.
  • Generate financial reports for each project, highlighting any deviations from budgeted figures.
  • Analyse project finances to detect trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

2. Client Portal Management:

  • Oversee and manage the client portal ensuring timely updates on invoice and cash collection status.
  • Work closely with the client IT department to ensure the smooth running of the portal and raise any issues.
  • Address any client queries or concerns related to the portal promptly.

3. Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary financial contact for project managers, providing them with accurate financial insights and updates.
  • Foster relationships with external stakeholders, such as clients or vendors, to ensure timely payments and clear communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies and to streamline the financial management process.

4. Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flows relating to project activities.
  • Maintain AR ageing trackers.
  • Forecast potential cash flow challenges and work proactively to mitigate any risks.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist project managers in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Compare actual results to budgets/forecasts and analyse any variances.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 2+ years of proven experience as a Financial Controller, Project Controller, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and databases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and standards
