System Administrator
About the job
Responsibilities:
- Implement & manage and maintain a high-availability server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Implement and administer Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions to improve resource utilization and simplify IT management.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical business data.
- Configure and manage virtual environments using virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Perform routine server maintenance tasks such as patching, updates, and user management.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems proactively.
- Document server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure smooth operation and integration of IT systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in server administration.
- Proven experience with server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. Certification will have added advantages.
- Experience with HCI solutions (e.g., Nutanix, HPE SimpliVity) a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Excellent scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
