TMS Officer

Job Summary:

TMS officer will be mainly responsible of Planning deliveries of Sales orders to all Sales channels in the most efficient and effective manner. TMS officer leverages usage of transportation management systems and other tools to streamline processes and enhance overall logistics performance.

Responsibilities:

Transportation Management Systems (TMS):

· Utilize and implement and manage TMS software to optimize routing and scheduling and ensure an effective movement of goods and materials while running efficient operations.

· Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

· Ensure the TMS is effectively utilized to track shipments, monitor delivery performance, and generate relevant reports.

· Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction (Truck-route optimization, Truck-load optimization).

· Develop and maintain transportation schedules to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.

· Develop daily delivery schedule based on received sales orders (quantity, CBM and weight), load destination, and set delivery priorities.

· Identify areas for process improvement within the transportation function and implement best practices to enhance overall productivity.

· Any other cross functional support and collaboration required, including Go-To-Market plans, remodeling, analysis, and other initiatives solicited by Sales and Marketing departments.

· Jointly plan with Sales team to provide efficient and effective go-to-market solutions, minimize trips per customer, clustering trips per Geo zone and maximize drops per route.

· Initiate, Lead, co-lead and participate in productivity saving initiatives and efficiency prompting solutions related to the transportation function.

· Standardize delivery cost norms: to set reference base metrics, including fuel consumption per Kilometer, base KMs in routes vs KMs off-route, average driver time per trip, average time on site, total delivery cost per KM., delivery cost% of delivered goods value.

· Deliver on set KPI’s enlisted in this document and any other set objectives in line with performance development review and performance management process.

Regulatory & Compliance:

· Stay informed about transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

· Ensure that all transportation activities adhere to legal and regulatory standards.

· Compliance to the company’s rules and regulations, and published policies and procedures.

Health & Safety:

· Collaborate with H&S team in regard to H&S agenda, support and facilitate implementation of H&S initiatives related to Fleet, and support design of relevant norms.

· Timely communication of relevant H&S reports imbedded into the TSM.

Communication and Collaboration:

· Maintain open channels of communication with Warehouses, Planning, Sales, Marketing, H&S and other stakeholders to keep transportation activities aligned with overall business operations.

 

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, BA or related field.
  • Proven 2-4+ years of experience in transportation management and logistics.
  • Exposure to Supervisory role in FMCG/Retail environment.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other relevant software.

· In-depth knowledge of Transportation laws and regulations applicable to the region.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in Arabic & English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, having the ability to work independently and initiate proper actions, anticipate business and operational needs and put proper measures in place ahead of time to avoid disruptions and discontinuity.
  • Interdependent and collaborative mindset to operate in a team environment among other functions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· Delivery on time.

· Delivery cost vs AOP: TBD

· Deliver 5% cost reduction vs AOP via route optimization, fuel consumption reduction, and other delivery related costs.

· Other KPI’s will be set and measured against key objectives in employee’s annual performance management process and performance development review.
