Marketing Communications Manager

About the job

Organization- Hyatt Regency Aqaba AylaSummary

  • To assist in the implementation of the hotel’s Marketing Communications Strategy (goals, tactics and actions) to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures in Rooms, Food and Beverage, and all other revenue generating departments.
  • To ensure the Marketing Communications activities are aligned with the Corporate Marketing Strategy, and the Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
  • To assist in the preparation and update of the Departmental Operations Manuals.
  • To attend regular departmental marketing communications meetings and ensure departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.

Customer Service

  • To ensure Marketing Communication associates provide excellent service to external customers, as well as internal customers in other departments.
  • To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquires in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.

Financial

  • To maximise associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
  • To assist with establishing annual marketing communications budgets, including above the line advertising, public relations, sales promotions and publicity that will form part of the hotel’s business plan.
  • To maintain complete records of all media and purchase agreements, contracts and quotes for the hotel.
  • To assist in monthly reforecasting.
  • To assist in managing costs based on key performance indicators.
  • To ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.

Marketing

  • To establish an annual and fully integrated communications programme with measurable objectives, strategies and action steps.
  • To assist in the preparation, utilisation and update of an Annual Marketing Plan, broken down as necessary by division and/or department.
  • To measure, interpret, prioritise and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing communications activities through an ROI analysis and adjust as necessary.
  • To develop and maintain active contacts with the press and key media people, and evaluate all media solicitations and exposures.
  • To monitor all current attitudes and public statements concerning the hotel in foreign and local media.
  • To ensure adequate targeted publicity and coverage of the hotel’s positioning, promotional programmes, corporate image building and other activities.
  • To assess advertising needs and opportunities for the hotel and obtain initial approval of local media campaign proposals from the Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager.
  • To ensure all hotel advertising and collateral (Local Food and Beverage, recruitment, etc.) are of consistent high standards, and that they comply with HI’s brand standards.
  • To establish strong relations with media/print/advertising agencies.
  • To ensure timely and quality advertising and printing materials for all hotel’s Divisions.
  • To prepare and document all related print for hotel and purchase requests.
  • To recommend and develop proposals and direct and implement below the line sales promotions, with external partners such as credit card companies, banks, department stores, airlines, etc.to support the advertising and sales campaigns.
  • To closely work with Director of Sales and Marketing / Revenue Manager to maximise use of the targeted market information including customer profile, behaviour, and yield for the planning and evaluation of marketing communications.
  • Serve the hotel eCommerce lead, and execute eCommerce strategy
  • Report directly (solid line) to the DOSM/GM, and to the region’s Director, Global Marketing, PR and eCommerce Services.
  • Advise hotels on appropriate on-strategy eCommerce priorities and tactics.
  • Set reasonable ecommerce goals for hotel, review progress periodically, and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Identify hotel-specific online needs
  • Set budgets for the cluster/hotels for eCommerce activities
  • Ensure that the hotel is fully activated on Hyatt.com and its in-language global sites
  • Implementing and managing the Hotel Web Sites on Hyatt.com and its global sites
  • Maintain and update all Hyatt.com Hotel Web Site content including marketing messaging, imagery, captions, links, PDFs, hotel alerts, etc.
  • Conduct regular audits of Hyatt.com Hotel Web Sites to ensure each hotel is optimized for high quality custom images, content, links, and accurate translations, and work with hotels on corrective action
  • Guide hotels in developing hotel website modules for Spa, Golf, F&B and weddings, where applicable
  • Assure that hotel website on Hyatt.com and global sites are fully optimized to maximize traffic from search engines.
  • Work with hotel and regional Marketing leaders to execute online marketing activities, such as loading Marriott.com Hotel Web Site deals, Group Deals, Group Value Dates, eMail marketing and affiliate marketing
  • Coordinate execution of online marketing efforts through approved agencies/vendors.
  • Provide tracking, analysis, and reporting on the effectiveness of all e-programs: promotions, e-mail, listings, links, banners, etc.
  • Review reports, Evaluation Tool, Dashboard, DoubleClick, etc. and take corrective action, as appropriate. Reporting
  • Ensure that all web site, content, collateral, tactics, etc., for the hotel comply with Hyatt Internet Brand Standards and Policies. Monitor for off-strategy web tactics and programs, and take appropriate action either directly or in collaboration with area, region, and/or corporate leadership.
