Job Objective:

Monitor and publish news in English on the Roya website and its connected platforms with the appropriate accuracy and speed, as well as edit and improve the format and substance of the news delivered to the public with precision and efficiency. Create exceptional videos for the website and platforms, as well as to assist the team leader as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media, or any related field
• Experience in news editing or journalism
• Fluent in English and Arabic
• Knowledge of social media platforms and social media management tools
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask effectively
• Strong writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Good understanding of local, regional and global politics.
• Familiarity with AP style and newsroom procedures
• Experience in social media marketing or digital media preferred

Responsibilities:

• Monitor news and events and execute instructions from the team leader regarding the selection and follow-up of suitable news for publication.
• Follow news on various Jordanian, Arab, and international websites and platforms.
• Edit news articles (text, images, and graphics) for publication on the Roya website and its affiliated platforms.
• Develop, write, review, and proofread stories and news materials clearly, accurately, and balanced, according to the team leader’s guidelines.
• Select and edit excerpts from bulletins, news programs, and interviews broadcasted on screen.
• Work as a correspondent for the website to produce reports and news suitable for publication on the Roya website and its affiliated platforms.
• Coordinate with the Public Relations and Sales departments regarding any news related to the clients of the Roya media group.
• Continuously monitor and improve the journalistic and editorial efficiency of the team.
• Ensure continuous coordination according to the established work procedures with all departments of the News Department and other departments of the Roya media group.
• Adhere to the rules and methods specified in the Stylebook and the editorial policy of the News Department, in addition to the ethical and professional standards of the Roya media group and the ethical and professional rules of journalism and media work in Jordan.
• Perform any additional tasks requested by the direct manager within the scope of their work.
• Coordinate with the Public Relations and Sales departments regarding any news related to the clients of Roya Media Group.
