The position of Process Optimization (APC) professional is seeking an individual with extensive experience in process optimization and Advanced Process Control (APC). The successful candidate should possess a track record of working independently and assuming key responsibilities in project, services, and pre-sale roles. The primary focus of this position is to ensure the successful delivery of process optimization and simulation projects, with responsibilities ranging from client communication to project conception, engineering, resource management, scheduling, and implementation. Additionally, the candidate will provide support for simulation (OTS) projects and services.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for sound technical design and delivery of process optimization aligned with customer requirements and satisfaction.
Identify process control and optimization improvement opportunities at chemical manufacturing sites.
Support feasibility studies for implementing control optimization solutions considering constraints, objectives, and ROI.
Provide pre-sales support by identifying requirements, risks, and assumptions and preparing proposals.
Support/lead critical project activities, ensuring customer acceptance and satisfaction.
Conduct training on process performance solutions for plant operations and customer engineering teams.
Coordinate Operator Training Simulator application with technical support.
Troubleshoot process unit operations, software, and instrument problems.
Act as a process control subject matter expert for hazard analysis, design modifications, and incident investigation.
Recommend quality and efficiency improvements and communicate project risks.
Share technical knowledge and influence product development.
Communicate with internal teams to address technical issues.
Cultivate client relationships as a trusted technical advisor and identify growth opportunities.
Promote other process performance solutions like simulation, training, and automation.
Review operating philosophies, P&IDs, PFDs, and proposal documentation.

YOU MUST HAVE

Minimum 5 years of experience in delivering process optimization solutions
Hands-on experience implementing Real-Time/Multi-Variable Optimization in various industries
Proficiency in developing inferential/property predictors
Expert knowledge of industry-standard process optimization solutions
Proficient in programming languages like Visual Basic, CL, Fortran
Experience with DCS/Operator Stations (Honeywell Experion & TDC3000, Yokogawa Centum V/CS/CS3000, Siemens, Foxboro, ABB, Emerson, etc.)
Expertise in PID tuning and Advanced Regulatory Control implementation
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and control theory
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (Arabic as an advantage)
Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively with customers and multidisciplinary project teams
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Quick learner, efficient thinker, and effective in gathering and understanding user requirements
Desired Skill-Competencies:
Experience with Honeywell Profit Suite preferred
Familiarity with PID/APC monitoring applications
Process modeling experience in Refining, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas
Knowledge of Data Historians (Uniformance PHD, OSI PI, IP21) preferred
Working experience with process simulation packages (UNISM, Dynsim, HYSIS)
Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Process Control (Advanced degrees preferred)
