About the job

Maintenance Management:

Schedule and oversee routine maintenance for the hotel’s physical assets, such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and elevators.

Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for repairs and maintenance work.

Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.

Emergency Response:

Develop and implement emergency response plans for situations like power outages, fires, and other unexpected events.

Coordinate with security personnel and other relevant departments to ensure the safety of guests and staff during emergencies.

Budget Management:

Assist in preparing the department’s annual budget, and then manage expenses to stay within budget constraints.

Identify cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs.

Inventory Management:

Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs.

Order replacement parts and supplies as needed.

Energy Efficiency:

Implement energy-saving initiatives and environmentally-friendly practices to reduce the hotel’s energy consumption and environmental impact.

Record Keeping:

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including expenses, work orders, and equipment manuals.

Training and Staff Supervision:

Provide training to maintenance staff on safety procedures and equipment operation.

Supervise the work of maintenance personnel and contractors.

Quality Control:

Ensure that all maintenance work meets the hotel’s quality standards and guest expectations.

Compliance and Regulations:

Stay informed about relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Ensure the hotel’s compliance with these regulations.

Vendor Relations:

Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective services.

Safety and Security:

Implement safety protocols for maintenance activities, ensuring the well-being of guests, staff, and contractors.

Technology and Systems Management:

Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other software to track maintenance schedules, inventory, and work orders.. A Hotel Engineering Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining the physical integrity of a hotel property, ensuring the comfort and safety of guests, and contributing to the overall guest experience. Their work involves a combination of technical expertise, managerial skills, and a customer-oriented approach.
