In this role, you will:
Risk:
- Maintain robust oversight of Non-financial risks across Wholesale in Algeria, including demonstrating compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
- Be a team player and trusted partner who develops successful working relationships with the business, Region, Second Line, Product partners, and offshore teams supporting First Line Business Risk.
- Lead Algeria WSB Risk Governance and the continued embedding of the Risk Management Framework.
- Responsible for management of Wholesale and Affiliates RCAs. Actively participate in any trigger reviews related to all Non-financial risk types.
- Ensure the smooth running of the daily operation and measuring the overarching effectiveness and efficiency of the CCO / BRR function.
Conduct:
- Play a key part in driving the delivery of the overall conduct work-plan for Wholesale Banking in region.
- Ensure the Wholesale Banking business governance enables and facilitates the right level of business dialogue to identify conduct risks.
- Alignment of the Wholesale Banking policy framework and standards expected of staff in relation to conduct and supervision.
- Analyse key complaint themes and drive improvement actions to improve these key complaint themes.
Product & Reporting
- Work in partnership and directly with senior stakeholders in the Business, Functions and Internal Audit to ensure that top and emerging risks are identified, mitigated and accepted on a timely basis, whilst determining appropriate levels of risk appetite.
- Ensure ongoing effectiveness of New Product due diligence and post implementation approval processes whilst maintaining an accurate and robust product inventory suitable for HSBC’s customer base thus negating the impact of a conduct risks transpiring through miss selling scenarios.
- Execution of Tax Reporting for FATCA regime.
Requirements
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Deep understanding of Non-financial risk management, preferably gained through experience in front line, risk roles, consultancy or audit.
- Deep understanding of the Group’s Non-Financial Risk Framework, Conduct Framework and Product Management principles.
- Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills and proven ability in effectively interacting and influencing a wide range of people at different levels of seniority and from different cultures.
- Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language to audience at all levels.
- Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst adhering to timelines and quality of output.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment.
- Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions.
