General Manager/ Managing Director – Insurance Business:
The GM/CEO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all departments and providing direction to the management and board of directors on a continuous basis to ensure they run efficiently and effectively. A transformational leader who can drive all categories of personal and corporate insurance across the region.
He/she will also be responsible for improving efficiency, increasing departmental profits, monitoring financial activities, identifying business opportunities, analyze financial and accounting data, evaluate performance & productivity, generate reports, and give presentations. This will be subject to the objectives, policies and strategic plan set by the Board of Directors, and legislation in Jordan and Central Bank or any other governing laws.
The General Manager will effectively manage operations and processes associated with underwriting, claims, re-insurance, and accounts while offering technical guidance and training to the team. This position will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the Risk Management policy and framework of the Company and all other Company procedures. Ensure compliance with IRA guidelines, Company technical manuals and Law of the country.

The General Manager will be reporting to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for directing, coordinating and growing the Business and identifying new business opportunities by recruiting new intermediaries, new products and new solutions.
Develop a clear strategy for optimum performance while achieving growth targets within the strategic plan and risk appetite set by the Board of Directors.
To continuously supervise all departments compliance with Risk Management policy and framework. Adhere to the rules and regulation of Central Bank Jordan
To ensure internal deadlines for submission of premium bookings are strictly adhered to.
Responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships with all customers and intermediaries to ensure customers are provided with efficient service levels at all times.
A key focus on diversity, DEI, Work Life balance and wellbeing of employees. A driver of woman in leadership and equal opportunities.
Ensuring timely preparation of accurate, informative reports to management for decision-making. The individual must have good time management skills and the ability to structure the workday.

Conduct market research and intelligence and advise the company and senior management on changes in the insurance market in terms of rates and products.
Obtain written approval from the Rating Committee, for any deviations in rates, terms and conditions as per the Risk Management Framework and the Risk Management Policy set by the Board of Directors.
Ensuring that the staff performance management process of KPI is embraced and continuously carried out within the departments for effective and efficient service to ensure profitable and sustainable growth of the Company.
Ensure continuous internal and external training of heads of departments in the company.
Managing budgets & operational costs in the course of achieving the Company strategy and setting targets.
Commitment to continuous Corporate Governance Risk Management.
Ability to network within the market and recognize the need for change in a continuously changing insurance market.
Perform any other tasks that may be required in the position of General Manager. The Company, at its discretion, may deem fit to give additional responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities:
Implementation of the Strategic Plan 2023- 2024 monitoring successful implementation.
Adherence to the Board risk appetite for 2023 to 2024
Execution of the gaps/recommendations identified in the Risk dashboard prepared quarterly.
Quarterly Management accounts. Corrective measures to be taken on the results after discussion with the internal actuarial function and the MD. Premium rate review and benefits given under all policies to be reviewed in line with the recommendations of the actuarial function to be discussed with the MD every quarter.
Review the Financial Condition Report, prepared by the external independent actuaries and take corrective action as recommended by the actuaries.
Control and addressing breaches of company policies in all the departments.
Review of the minutes of Executive Committee- to ensure that tasks given to managers are completed within the time frames allotted to each.
In the event of a manager failing to meet a deadline or complete a task the KPI for the manager should be affected. In this regard you will work closely with HR to ensure that all failures to do tasks or meet deadlines are recorded for each officer and the KPI affected accordingly. This will be a continuous process.
Review the minutes of Board Committees to monitor that tasks allocated by the board committees are actually being carried out by the responsible officers and within the time frame set for each. The matters arising from each meeting should be reviewed by you regularly and monitored closely with the concerned managers.
Ensure that the Authority Matrix is being adhered to strictly by all departments.
Monitor the activities and implementation of the various internal committees e.g., ICT steering committee, credit control committee, etc.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
B.com or Business-related degree from a recognized university. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
ACII qualification or equivalent.
Active membership with a relevant professional body.
Excellent oral and communication skills, interpersonal skills including formal and informal presentation skills.
Must have a minimum of 15 years’ working experience in the General Insurance industry, of which 10 years should be in a managerial position.
Exposure dealing with Central Bank. Exposure an expat working across the GCC.
