Job Overview:
The Intermediate Safety Engineer will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining our safety management systems across various projects. This role requires a balance of on-site safety oversight and administrative duties to ensure all projects comply with safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety plans and policies tailored to each project.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, compiling reports and recommending improvements to prevent future occurrences.
Facilitate safety training sessions for site personnel, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized safety training.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and daily operations.
Stay informed on the latest industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices, and advise the company on compliance matters.
Manage safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and compliance certifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
2 to 3 years of experience in a safety engineering role within the construction or contracting industry.
Current certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety standards,
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
