Cluster Head – Tamil Nadu

The Position
Role Summary
- Overall leader of a state cluster; takes responsibility for, and drives, Roche’s business within the cluster with full P&L accountability
- Leads an externally focused, agile cluster-based team with a mindset & culture to make a disproportionate impact on patient lives (bring our medicines and services to more patients faster), while shaping the local healthcare system toward long-term sustainability
- Strives to maximize the value of our portfolio, whilst preparing the team for the critical launch of new innovative brands
How does the role serve the patients?
Pivotal role in coordinating & channelizing all of Roche’s efforts in a given cluster and accelerating the impact on patient lives within the state cluster, by inspiring & leading a team dedicated to patient impact within the cluster
Accountabilities
- Lead the cluster team (10+) – inspire, coach as needed to achieve agreed outcomes
- Overall responsibility of the state P&L – consistently deliver local P&L objectives and work towards building Roche leadership in chosen business areas
- Build strong relationships with the identified key stakeholders from Key Doctors, Accounts or Government stakeholders to build Roche equity
- Proactively shape the market environment, defend and improve Roche market position and depth of market access by developing strong, trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders (especially regulators, Pharma and Healthcare associations, patient groups, customers, media, key accounts, and TAEs)
- Create partnering opportunities wherever feasible – identify delivery partners and collaborate with them to increase access to Roche Innovations
- Build competitive knowledge through organizing and participating in local/global events
- Ensure compliance of the cluster team with Roche and Local guidelines for all Roche Initiatives
- Develop & implement operational policies and a strategic plan, ensuring delivery of key project KPIs
- Act as an agile leader – Implement agile ways of working in the cluster team, ensure employees live Roche India’s desired culture
- Create a ‘high performing’ team that provides a stimulating and motivating work environment focused on talent management and customer and business objectives
- One individual responsibility in the area of expertise
- Individually contribute to communities (within the affiliate, or at global level) through active participation with tangible results, over and above other responsibilities
- Leverage opportunities to cross-pollinate learnings (from other clusters into own, or from own cluster into others)

Eligibility Criteria (Qualification and Experience)
- University educated in business and/or medical, MBA would be a plus
- Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry (12 – 15 years) in a range of leadership and commercial roles, with at least 2+ yrs managing a P&L
- Must have worked in a mid-to-senior management function for a company based in India
- Strong financial business acumen
- Strong customer focus with a keen eye on delivering patient value
- Ability to lead teams in an agile way and creating a working culture that is transparent and values driven and ensures personal growth of employees
- Fluency in English essential
- Employee has completed minimum 2 years with Roche Pharma (Applicable for internal hire)
- Job Location: State Cluster
- Willingness to relocate
