What we are looking for
Strong technical background in complex protection programme development and implementation and a strategic adviser who is experienced in capacity strengthening, fundraising and budget development.
Experience in start-up, scale-up and emergency contexts is desired as well as knowledge of the Palestine humanitarian context. Experience in site management programme implementation is an added advantage.
What you will do
The purpose of the Protection from Violence (PfV) Specialist position is to lead the technical development, strategic direction, and quality control of the Protection from Violence (PfV) Core Competency (CC) within the Palestine Country Office. The Protection from Violence Specialist is responsible for mentoring, training, and capacity building of PfV teams.
In this role you will:
- Provide technical direction and project implementation support.
- Contribute to fundraising, develop, and revise funding proposal, budgets, and donor reports.
- Identify trends, technical standards, and donor priorities.
- Contribute to implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your area of work.

- Minimum 4 years of experience within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context.
- Specific experience and expertise in:
- key technical standards (IASC, protection mainstreaming, IHL, gender and humanitarian principles, donor markers on gender and disability etc.) and a demonstrated ability to integrate them into programming.
- knowledge of the Palestine humanitarian context.
- start-up, scale-up projects and emergency contexts.
- design and delivery of team capacity strengthening, including remote coaching, mentoring and training.
- development and oversight of sectoral monitoring and analysis mechanisms would be an asset with specific expertise in monitoring and analysis of displacement trends, collective sites, and protection risks (quantitative and qualitative data), including in the absence or regular, consistent or reliable data.
- coordinating multi-agencies forum.
- Understanding of and commitment to:
- working collaboratively with technical and operational colleagues within a matrix structure, including capacity strengthening.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (law, social sciences or related disciplines). An advanced academic qualification will be an added advantage.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
