We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Head of Senior School, we are seeking an outstanding, committed and energetic teacher of art to join the British School of Bahrain to start in January 2024, on a two-term contract. The candidate must be a team player and must have a passion to achieve the highest levels of learning and a culture of excellence for themselves and their students.
The successful candidate will be experienced in delivering GCSE and A Level Art to highly motivated and talented students striving for places at some of the world’s top Universities. He/she will ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of the children in accordance with the school requirements; and ensure that all subjects to be taught provide coverage, progression and continuity. The candidate will also be committed to providing enrichment opportunities for students beyond the school curriculum.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Place the individual child at the centre of everything that they do.
- A passion for achieving high levels of learning and a team player
- Prioritise happiness, enjoyment and a sense of fun in their work and lessons.
- A relevant degree, PGCE or BEd or the equivalent.
- A relevant Arts degree qualification is required.
- A passion for their subject and pedagogical development.
- Confidence in the use of ICT in teaching.
- High expectations and aspirations for all students.
- A demonstratable commitment to the overall development of young people.
- An Enhanced Disclosure/DBS/ACRO Police Check or equivalent, and who is committed to the welfare of all children.
