About the job

Organizational Development Lead, USAID/Jordan Knowledge, Monitoring, Evidence, Learning, and Research Activity (KMELRA), Jordan

Social Impact is a global development management consulting firm. We provide monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning, and capacity building services to advance development effectiveness. Since 1997 we have worked in over 100 countries for clients such as US government agencies, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and nonprofits.

Proposal Objective:

Social Impact is bidding on the upcoming USAID/Jordan KMELRA project, intended to be an umbrella mechanism providing USAID/Jordan with empirical data on program effectiveness, deepen accountability, foster learning, and knowledge management, and improve Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation (CLA) capacity within USAID/Jordan Mission and Jordan in general. The Activity will be designed to advance USAID localization agenda and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals.

Position Description:

Social Impact is seeking a full-time Organization Development Lead to oversee and guide all tasks related to knowledge management, capacity building, and organizational development for USAID/Jordan KMELRA project.

This will be a full-time position based in Amman, Jordan for the duration of the contract, contingent upon contract award. The anticipated award date for the proposal is Fall 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of services and activities under the OD component of the project, including developing scope/budget/timelines for assigned activities.
  • Oversee training and capacity building sessions.
  • Organize and facilitate regular organizational development pause and reflect sessions for USAID staff.
  • Design and facilitate participatory processes in which USAID/Jordan teams and expanded teams (including IPs and other stakeholders) assess, develop and/or learn about new and/or improved programmatic and operational approaches and processes.
  • Seek and take advantage of opportunities to strengthen USAID/Jordan’s capacity to undertake organizational development efforts.
  • Conduct assessments, data analysis, direct stakeholder engagement, and other learning exercises to gauge readiness for organizational changes, acceptance of organizational change, gaps in performance, etc.
  • Support the USAID/Jordan’s staff in accessing strategic learning tools, as well as in providing guidance and support to the activity’s evaluation services component including but not limited to knowledge mobilization and knowledge management mechanisms.
  • Manage teams including full-time staff and consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in international development, organizational development, change management, social sciences, or related field.
  • At least eight years of experience developing and conducting organizational development and/or CLA activities for organizations, donors, clients, and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with local partners, international donor organizations, civil society and private sector, host country government counterparts, and other implementing stakeholders in developing countries.
  • Previous experience supporting USAID-funded contracts in a similar capacity preferred.
  • Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches, and operations, particularly as they relate to CLA, knowledge management, and organizational development, is a plus.
  • Experience managing such efforts in non-permissive environments and conflict zones, preferably in Jordan and/or the MENA region.
  • Proven supervisory, mentorship, and leadership capabilities for all levels of staff (employees and consultants).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English, and proficiency in Standard Arabic is a plus.
