Position – Principal business development
Job Summary
Provide robust strategical, technical, technological, & commercial expertise, advise and superior support on Network Development & Studies,
Business Development, Growth, Capacity Planning, Strategies & Studies and create innovative solution related with the execution
of Network Development & Studies. This includes (1) Defining and establishing long term Business Development strategies , Portfolio
Growth, Opportunity Scouting & Project Maturation Initiatives & Directives in , including its growth strategies in various directions for
venturing into new businesses, acquisitions & deal delivery. (2) Defining and establishing ’s strategical long-term strategies in terms
of Gas network infrastructure development, business growth, diversification, expansion locally and internationally, energy efficiency and
decarbonization plans (3) Defining and establishing concept strategies & studies related to Gas Network enhancement and development
including but not limited to digitalization, design standardization, alternative energy & energy efficiency, with emphasis in all business
development studies and strategies aiming at widening and sustaining the Gas Network Business acting as the most senior expert and
contributor for Network Development & Studies, Capacity Planning studies, ensuring the application of common technical principles and
concepts, while providing guidance to junior staff & trainees; in order in order to support the safe, reliable, efficient and optimal Gas network
operations.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international
standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international
practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Front liner contribution in Leading, Defining, Establishing, and Implementings strategical long-term strategies in terms of Gas network infrastructure development, business growth, diversification, expansion locally and internationally, energy efficiency and decarbonization plans. Responsible to define, establish & implement long term diversification & alternative energy strategy including expansion into the Hydrogen (Grey, Blue, Green) business, HC transportation, Gas Storage, etc.. Manage communications directly impacting the long-term strategic position and stance of as the national Energy transporter in Oman with various external stakeholders with aligned and conflicting positions with such as MEM, APSR, EDO, HDO, OLNG, Madayn etc… Develop growth strategies in various directions including venturing into new businesses after evaluating them technically and commercially through acquisitions & deal delivery or new greenfield projects. Assist in ensuring that is a strategic player in the new era of energy transportation in Oman by reaching strategic agreements that fulfil vision and mission with external parties having their own aspirations and agenda. Optimizes the allocation and distribution of gas from Gas Network, in order to satisfy the current demands for methane and ethane. Contribute with the development of master gas system (collect the associated gas from gas oil-separation plants and routes it through gas plants) and fractionation processed into various components (methane, ethane, propane, butane, etc.) Contribute with the efficient gas flow for Gas Network Capacity, by designing parameters that affect profitability, considering aspects such as storage capacity, mixed integer programming models and experiments framework. Participate in reviewing Capacity Expansion Studies. Coaching and training of junior & trainee engineers. Assist in short/long term budgeting related to business development.
