Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Amman for a Business Data Analyst (Technical Writer). The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as analyzing data, creating reports, developing models, and communicating insights to stakeholders. The Business Data Analyst will also work closely with other teams to identify operational efficiencies and improve overall business performance.
Essential Functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems
and building simple frameworks
- Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
- Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model
specification documents for datasets

- Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
- Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain
protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
- Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build
relationships
- Ensures that working conditions in all assigned business units are up to the standards required to
ensure staff comfort and safety.
- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional
track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough
understanding of computer hardware and software systems.
- Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and
metadata.
- Creating and delivering creative customer presentations to achieving incremental opportunities
and developing strategic business partnerships, to influence corporate plans, supporting businesses

- Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
- Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.
- Recognize, analyze, and describe complex data set trends and patterns
- Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize business and information needs
- Use data analysis to identify trends in sales data, customer demographics and other information
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
- Highly developed data skills – analysis, synthesis, reporting and decision making.
- Establish and maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry
- Proficiency in at least one data visualization tool, such as Matplotlib, Plotly, D3.js, ggplot, etc.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
- Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate potential risks
- Excellent business acumen and exposure to all areas of the retail business model.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, computer science, computer engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant field, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
