This document shall indicate the key attributes required to fulfil a role of Planning Engineer to support our operations in Oman.

Job Description

Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be responsible for monitoring and advising client periodically of the project’s progress and associated risks relating to progress. The projects comprise mainly of Building Structures, Tank foundations and sitewide pipe lines for the EPC 1, EPC 2 and EPC 3 packages of the Duqm Refinery project.

Requirements

• B.Sc. Engineering (PMP certificate is preferable)
• You will be a recognised expert with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in a similar role at a senior level (ideally extensive Construction Contractor background within the Oil and Gas environment)
• You have considerable Planning experience showing clear career progression in the planning field through working with either client, consultancy or more importantly contractor side.
• Successful applicants will have experience of working on civil works in an Oil and Gas environment and in a Contractor outfit.
• Knowledge in the use of Primavera (P3/P5/P6) and MS Project is also essential
• Strong verbal and written communication skills is essential
• Experience as a Project Manager as well as a Planning Manager
• Experience in identifying delays and preparing impact or time extension analysis reports

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Scheduling
• Overseeing & managing 5- 10 Planning Engineers and Site Engineers
• The experience shall include a previous position as planning Engineer on infrastructure projects and assessment of extension claims.

Experience in the GCC countries is preferred.

• Assist in managing logic networks based on critical path (P6)
• Assist in the development and preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports to the client
• Assist in the updating of the Baseline Schedule, including executive summary report
• Identify bottleneck areas and alerting management as well as develop solutions
• Coordinate and interface with client, and other sub-contractors daily
• Assist in the development of weekly snap shots as required by the client
• Attend meetings with the client and owner and provide information to team members regarding new direction or updated information
• Developing the appropriate systems and procedures to deliver services to client
• Assist in preparing time extension or delay analysis reports
• Coordinate with the Commercial Team to ensure planning goals are achieved
• Be a team Leader to ensure all deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion
• Review and sign off on all deliverables prior to submission to owner & client
• Interface with the Design Team to ensure issuance of designs meet the planned schedule
• Interface with the clients project managers and zone managers on a daily basis
