Business Manager

About the job
Summary

The Business Manager prepares/executes issue identification/resolution and projects within Customer & Digital (C&D) and acts as the ‘Chief of Staff’ to the Exec Director C&D. In this capacity he/she manages interactions with key internal & external stakeholders, drives (strategic) projects and actively participates in shaping the C&D agenda, acts as a sparring partner and provides the C&D ED and his Mgt team with advice on all relevant matters. The business manager is furthermore responsible for a small team that drives the C&D HR, financial & procurement management & some other supporting processes to the C&D ED and his team.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Business Management

Build & maintain relevant knowledge of the energy sector and the specific C&D domains
Prepare, monitor, coordinate and communicate the strategic/tactical agenda of the department
Drive or support the ED in ad hoc and/or structural programs, projects or activities (eg. energy sector initiatives, issue management, …)
Support the C&D ED and his team with creation of storylines/presentations, business cases, etc.
Collect, analyze, and utilize data and feedback to identify opportunities to foster and improve:
C&D related internal and external communication,
the relationship between the department and the other entities (internal/external)
Ways of working in C&D and between C&D and the wider stakeholder universe
Act as a positive representative of the ED and the sector/department to the stakeholder universe
Act as ‘Chief of Staff’ to the C&D ED:
Establishing and managing HR, Procurement and Finance processes, structures, policies, standards, reports, and frameworks required for visibility, control, effectiveness, and efficiency, supporting the critical business objectives of the department
Identify, shape and coordinate opportunities to improve business processes and outcomes through organizational assessments, design and change
Drive consistent and transparent financial and risk/opportunity reporting to accurately align business value with C&D CAPEX/OPEX costs/risks/opportunities.

Experience

Knowledge, Skills and E xperience

Highly talented individual with appx. 5-7 years work experience, ideally coming from a strategy/consultancy background.
Proven experience in designing, managing and delivering complex organization transformation programs.
Experience in people and organization management, especially in an agile way of working context.
Specific experience working in Utility Sector is a huge plus.
Relevant experience with stakeholder management.

Knowledge

Understanding of Energy and wider (digital) Technology capabilities and trends.
Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices.
Knowledge of project management technics.
Business/management expertise (business processes and systems).
Data interpretation and visualization.
Knowledge of Quality Standards/Procedures.
Solid knowledge of conducting different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, stress etc.).

Freight Forwarding Specialist

SummaryThe Freight Forwarding Specialist will execute the operations of the Freight Forwarding component of the supply chain and logistics chain of NEOM Industrial City, working with carriers, importers and exporters to make sure goods are transported in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective way to provide NEOM with the world class supply chain and logistics services.Responsibilities

  • Execute freight transactions
  • Coordinate amongst all stakeholders to ensure collaboration and integration of activities
  • Freight Forwarding planning of the initial shipments within NEOM.
  • Follow approved policies, procedures, and processes in reporting units
  • Execute freight contract management for individual shipments and ensure all are managed in an efficient and cost-effective way.
  • Execute the day-to-day operations for Airfreight, Oceanfreight, Roadfreight & customs, ensuring cost effective, achievable, and efficient process for Transport execution.
  • Ensuring that daily multi-site transport schedules are provided in a timely, clear, concise and cost-effective manner.
  • Identify & implement effective and appropriate shipment routes and methods for transporting freight and recommend shipping solutions that minimize cost and environmental impact
  • Execute the transportation of goods and freight from source to warehouse and in all intermediate destinations, offering consolidated services by air, sea, and land in coordination with the freight forwarders
  • Handle documentation as per the appropriate requirements and regulations, and through the appropriate platforms and systems, including insurance and inspection certificates, certificates of origin, consolidated charge receipts, custom clearance, shipper’s export declaration, and others jointly with the custom specialists
  • Participate in negotiations with carriers to ensure the most effective and appropriate shipment routes and methods for transporting freight and recommend shipping solutions that minimize cost and environmental impact
  • Freight transportation negotiation with carriers, truckers, railways, non-vessel-operating common carriers, and others
  • Handle payment transactions on behalf of the client, such as freight charges and negotiate shipping rates
  • Ensure tracking of the movement of freight in transit through various software and SC&L specific technologies
  • Maintain relationships with key clients, keeping them up to date on the process of their goods and informing them of factors such as shipping options, timelines, or regulations affecting shipments
  • Handle the arrangements for packing and loading of goods
  • Fulfill other tasks & responsibilities as given by the FFW Operations Manager

Qualifications

Flexibility Solutions Lead

Summary

Neom is developing a 100% renewable power system by harnessing the power of wind, solar and water in full circularity. Key to the cost effectiveness of the system will be to develop a smart and flexible energy system that encourages the active participation of all energy assets in transparent and accessible markets.

Demand flexibility from large industrial customers is a key pillar of the ENOWA portfolio strategy to unlocking flexibility in the energy system. This will require large industrial and manufacturing customers to review and reimagine conventional ways of operating to make them more flexible, innovative, resilient and sustainable in response to the availability of low-cost renewables without compromising their underlying business objectives.

This role shall be tasked as the technical subject matter expert within the ENOWA flexibility team responsible for advising the largest industrial and manufacturing companies and NEOM sector proponents to optimize their plant designs, equipment selection, processes and operational procedures in order to deliver maximum electrical and thermal flexibility to the energy system.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Brine Processing Flexibility

Key technical flexibility lead from energy as part of the customer delivery program reporting.
Advise proponents on thermal vs electrical substitution/complementary opportunities to minimize overall project energy cost and power grid impact.
Identify and maximise opportunities for thermoelectrical efficiency as well as operational process flexibilities to be incorporated in brine complex design.

Green Stell and Mining Flexibility

Identify, evaluate and recommend technical asset investments ENOWA can make in addition to proponent base case assumptions to increase energy (thermal and electrical) flexibility.
Support TSO, DSO and grid planning teams to understand operational processes and power grid impact risk and opportunities.

Oxagon Manufacturing Cluster Flexibility

Advise power modelling and portfolio management teams on the techno-economic characteristics of all identified flexibility options.
Lead reviewer and content provider for all technical process flexibility specification of RFP, RFQ, SoW and FEED documents (proposals, feasibility, planning, etc.) to enable delivery of energy flexibility.
Assess and recommend opportunities for innovative technology adoption under the principles of flexibility, sustainability and circularity.
Technical input in the establishment of and compliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards to support process engineering solutions.

Knowledge, Skills And E Xperience

Technical skills:

In-depth understanding of the fundamental principles of:
Chemical and thermal processes and design.
Industrial, mechanical, and electrical processes and design.
Thermodynamics and HVAC system processes and design.
Batch processing and advanced manufacturing techniques.

Knowledge and understanding of conventional and emerging seawater desalination and brine processing technologies. Eg RO, MVR, MED, solar ponds and mineral extraction processes among others.
Awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
Ability to leverage process engineering software tools (HYSYS, VERTEX, MySep, Olga, AFT Impulse,) to analyse complex problems and deliver solutions.
Experience with Programmable Logic Units (PLUs) to implement flexible industrial automation.
Experience of the application of HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating to process design.
Experience with Concept Selection and FEED studies.
Understanding of the costs/benefit tradeoffs and techno-economic assessment of industrial process engineering.
15+ years’ experience working in a process engineering capacity at any or most of the following industries: chemical, steel, refinery, food processing and large multinational manufacturing or engineering consulting company.

Preferred

Good understanding of decentralized energy technologies and other energy efficiency technologies and their potential commercialization in power markets.
Familiarity with the energy transition and opportunities for power grid transformations.
Previous experience of working in the Middle East and more specifically Saudi Arabia.

NEOM require a Head of Cultural Partnerships to lead on developing partnerships with cultural and creative organisations for the culture and entertainment sector of the Line at NEOM.

Candidates will bring experience of developing and delivering high-level partnership projects in the commercial and not-for-profit cultural and entertainment sectors.

The purpose of the role is to identify the areas where regional, national and international partnerships will accelerate and consolidate the growth of entertainment and culture in NEOM and e stablish and maintain the partnerships that will deliver these benefits.

The role will develop a partnership strategy for the Entertainment and Culture Sector in The Line at NEOM using their industry knowledge and networks.

Lead the partnerships team in securing high-value entertainment and culture partnerships, taking responsibility for the full cycle of partnership activity
Identifying possible partners
Agreeing terms for partnerships, including both commercial contracts and non-commercial MOUs and co-operation agreements
Maintaining ongoing partner relationships
Work with NEOM colleagues to ensure the commercial and artistic objectives of both NEOM and its partners are achieved.
Work with communications colleagues to maximise the media profile of successful partnerships

Advisory Support
The role will be a point of contact to support internal stakeholders at NEOM with partnership working and stakeholder engagement for cultural organisations beyond The Line, providing ongoing support to regions and departments at NEOM intending to and in the process of developing partnerships for cultural projects.
The role will produce guidance documentation to support partnership working by cultural organisations across NEOM and that supports alignment with the vision for culture at NEOM.
The role must support the strategic development of the cultural offer at NEOM more broadly with a focus on partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
Ensure the partnerships team are meeting their objectives by following best practice and promote the continued development of quality standards.
