Deputy Operations Manager

The Position
As a Deputy Operations Manager you’ll get the opportunity to play an active role in delivering unique experiences to our customers, to ensure they have the best travel experience ever! You’ll play a pivotal role in the successful and profitable running of all Intrepid trips in your region. You’ll do this by providing managerial and administrative support to the Operations Manager, and by handling day-to-day trip issues, our customer experience, plus the training, management and recruitment of our incredible tour leaders!

- Training, recruitment and on-going appraisal, counselling, and development of tour leaders
- Monitoring trip feedback, and actioning any issues or improvement opportunities
- Manage supplier relationships and actioning any on-trip issues immediately
- Ensure internal communication systems are kept up to date
- Assist Operations Manager to ensure we operate to the standards set by Intrepid’s safety policy
- Assist to ensure trips run within budget by reducing operational costs and increasing operational efficiency
- Support and take initiative to improve quality of existing trips, and identify and research new potential products
This is a full-time position based in Jordan on a hybrid basis. We believe vaccines play a critical role in the safe return of travel. To ensure our workplaces are safe, we require proof of Covid-19 vaccination when you work from an Intrepid office, attend company events or travel on trips.
Some of the essentials you’ll bring will include:
- Extensive travel experience in the region
- Travel industry work experience, particularly as a Group Leader
- Management, coaching and training experience
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) in English. Knowledge of the local languages will be an added advantage.
- A workable knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software
- Diploma or higher in tourism from a recognized and reputable college
You’ll also be reliable and responsible, with outstanding organisational and customer service skills, and be flexible and adaptable to handle a multitude of tasks that may be on the go at the one time.
