MGT- Commissioning & Controls Field Engineer – Service

How You Will Make An Impact

 

• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on Siemens Energy products.
• Carry out Controls Installation & Commissioning activities on newly installed equipment and during service-related maintenance/Upgrades.
• Carry out trouble-shooting and rectifying faults.
• Understand packaged and ancillary equipment.
• Work Safely and in accordance with the companies written operating instructions.
• To take part in product training programs to ensure continued role competency and/or development.
• Produce technical reports, based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues, and/or improve system reliability and availability.
• Take part in root cause analysis and fault diagnostics as required.
• Open to travelling as the work requires attendance at both on-shore and off-shore assignments.
• Ability to complete offshore survival and firefighting course.

• We are looking for a degree level in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or Equivalent Education or have vocational qualifications in electrical and/or controls systems in these cases with at least 5 years of related engineering experience or in a similar role.
• We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to commission, fault find, maintain and service equipment we have supplied to our customers.
• You are considered to have a professional, proactive, and flexible approach to your work.
• Have a strong work ethic and able to demonstrate initiative, be a flexible self-starter, working with the minimum direction and could work with a wide range of people as well as be a team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• You will have worked in an Instrumentation and Controls discipline, ideally on multiple controls platforms, including HMI systems and panel based electrical systems.
• Able to interpret piping and installation drawings, general engineering drawings and controls schematics.
• Ability to mobilize at short notice for emergency situations as well being away from home for extended periods including weekends.
• Extensive travel will be required for this position 80% within domestic and international.
• Hold or be able to obtain offshore working certificates.
• Excellent and professional communication skills both written and oral. This includes the ability to hold difficult discussions with customers to protect company interests.
• Hold a valid passport and driving license.
• Have experience of using Virtual, RDS and tooling associated with the work is preferred.
• Cross product knowledge and experience on SGT/TCP/AGT will be an added advantage. Additional knowledge on Allen-Bradley FT100, FT125 is beneficial.
• Preferred core competency ideally should include knowledge and experience of various controls systems ideally on MGT (SGT 600,700,800). –
• Siemens SPPA T3000, S7 & PCS7
