Service Engineers are required for a leading Data Centre Construction Company based in Doha, Qatar

Job Description:

The post holder will take lead in servicing new and existing clients with remote hands type requests within data centres’ environments to ensure service tickets are actioned and closed out accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

To take lead in carrying out on site, the day-to-day duties of client needs. This will include, but not be limited to:

• Patching of all Copper, Fibre Optic Structured Cabling (SCS)
• Able to work alone as well as a part of a team
• Installation of structured cabling where necessary
• To liaise with clients to resolve any issues from an operational perspective.
• Take lead and responsibility for the quality and maintenance of any installation works that are service ticket related
• Monitor cases and communicate with clients direct with service requests
• Investigate and fault find with assistance from the clients
• Able to use testing equipment such as Fluke Analysers
• Basic hardware support including but not limited to manual power down/up of devices as well as replace any hot swappable components
• Racking of devices and rail kits
• Able to carry out basic commands with client direction for servers/hosts (desirable not essential)
• Material Control, maintain records of deliveries and update the ticketing system where required
• Available to be on rota where required as a 24/7 service engineer for call outs
• Driven by SLA’s and ensure clients receive a great level of service
• Adhere to Datalec Precision safety policy and HSE requirements.
• Ensure all works comply with Datalec, Client and Manufacturers quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• GCSE Level – including Maths & English
• Basic IT skills as well as Excel usage would be beneficial
• Able to monitor and update an online CRM ticketing system (training will be provided)
• NVQ Level 3/equivalent or above in Structured (Data) Cabling or IT Networking
• CSCS card or ECS, and PASMA (An advantage) or IPAF (An advantage)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of the installation, termination and testing of Structured Cabling Systems (Data, Fibre & Voice) or datacentre remote hands type works– Accredited experience in leading Manufacturer brands such as Corning, Commscope, Panduit, Brand Rex, Excel, or equivalent (An advantage)
• Fully conversant with the setup and operation of the latest Fluke Analysers
• The ability to locate and rectify faults on structured cabling systems
• Security Background Checks (DBS / PES)
• Ability to work from construction drawings
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• ‘Can do’ attitude.
• Customer facing, polite and informative
• Team leader and team player.
• Full driving licence essential
• Lone working – ability to work remotely.
• Willing to travel if required
