The University of Balamand is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join its Office of Media and Communication. The Graphic Designer will play a key role in developing and executing visually engaging designs across various mediums to support the university’s branding and communication efforts. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio showcasing their skills in graphic design, typography, and visual storytelling.

 

Responsibilities

1) Design and Creation:

• Develop visually appealing designs for both print and digital media, including brochures, posters, flyers, banners, infographics, social media graphics, webpages, webgraphics, and other promotional materials.
• Collaborate with the Office of Media and Communication team to conceptualize and execute creative design solutions that align with the university’s brand guidelines.
• Produce designs that effectively communicate complex information in a visually compelling and accessible manner.
• Edits videos and develops animations when needed.
• Supports in the management of the social media channels, and assists in live coverage when needed.

2) Branding and Identity:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the university’s brand identity guidelines and ensure consistent application of the brand across all design projects.
• Assist in the development and evolution of the university’s visual identity through the creation of new design elements and templates.

3) Project Management:

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, while adhering to set deadlines.

4) Print and Production:

• Prepare print-ready files and work closely with external vendors to ensure high-quality production of printed materials.
• Stay updated with current trends and advancements in graphic design, printing techniques, and software tools, and make recommendations for improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

– Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.

– Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.

– Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout compositions.

– Knowledge of print production processes and requirements.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

– Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and consistency.
