Helios Towers is a leading independent telecommunications infrastructure company, having established one of the most extensive tower portfolios across Africa. It builds, owns and operates telecom passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network operators. Helios Towers currently operates in 8 markets in Africa and Oman in the Middle East
Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and controlling the projects portfolio whilst ensuring all the resources are effectively managed to meet the delivery targets as well as the success criteria.
The role holder will be responsible for efficiently managing all the risks associated with the projects portfolio and escalating any risks, problems and opportunities to the Head of Projects & Operations whilst ensuring that all the stakeholders (including the client) are informed on the state of progress of the projects. The Project Manager is also responsible for the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental impact of the project.

Operational Delivery :
- Working in close collaboration with the Sales and Supply Chain teams to develop processes and recruit/promote/develop skills that will enable HT Oman to exceed its customers’ expectations at the project handover stage
- Delivering programmes and projects within the deadlines and within budget
- Manage the Projects Quality Plan in order to ensure that a systematic methodology is applied to verify all the Quality Control processes throughout the implementation of the projects
- Drive all the projects specifications including but not limited to the drawings, the inspections, tests and commissioning programmes
- Ensure all permits are obtained timely and in accordance with local legislation
- Ensure an appropriate communication programme is developed and implemented to keep all the members of staff working on the project, aware of the state of progress of the project and the risks and opportunities
- Defining and managing the scope of the project, from drawing up the customers’ requirements, designing a solution, deciding upon the equipment and the requirements of the contractor, and managing any modifications, if applicable
- Adopt a risk management approach to manage the opportunities and the risks that will maximise the potential of successfully achieving the project success criteria
- Responsible for ensuring that any projects in the pipeline are defined and planned as required by the sales and operations planning process in order for HT Oman to start the project as soon as the notice to proceed is signed
- Ensure knowledge of Health & Safety & Environment and demonstrate a pro-active approach to the risks associated with HSE
- The project manager bears total or partial responsibility for selecting, supplying, and planning materials and sub-contracted services in accordance with the project timescale
- Ensure that all the updating of databases, models and reports are performed accurately and on time, in accordance with HT Oman rules and regulations
- Identify opportunities for improvement based on structured project reviews and working with the Head of Operations & Projects in order to improve the standards relating to processes, quality, and safety
- Actively participate in developing the overall skills of the project management supervisors/engineers through Value created by process improvement
- Ensure that a kick off meeting is done when the project commence and a close off meeting is done at the end of the project that include lesson learned from the project
- Ensure that the Compliance Framework is adhered to in dealing with third party customers and suppliers
- Adherence to budget management governance set out by Helios Group
Requirements for the Role

To succeed in the role, you will be/will have:
- Degree and qualification in an engineering/project management field
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in complex engineering (energy, civil engineering, petroleum or gas industry, etc.) or relating to capital projects and being able to demonstrate or provide proof of having successfully implemented a number of such projects
- Project management certification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Arabic Language skill is a must
