Financial Control Manager

About the job

We are looking for an experienced “Financial Control Manager” to support the financial controlling department with the economic and financial analysis necessary for the operational and strategic management of the Jordan Kuwait Bank. The best candidate will prepare the policies and procedures pertaining to financial control, review and monitor the general ledgers accounts continuously, review the financial reports, and budget, follow up the internal audit observations and other issues related to internal control, and be able to review financial data periodically to ensure its fairness and completeness.

Main Responsibilities and Roles:

1. Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.
2. Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
3. Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
4. Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
5. Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
6. Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure that Jordan Kuwait Bank complies with regulations and good financial practices.
7. Coordinate with other parties in the Finance department to solve issues raised by internal audit, risk department, regulators …etc.
8. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.
9. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Skills and Educational Background:

1. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller particularly, in banking sectors.
2. 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
3. BA degree in accounting or a related subject
4. CPA or CMA preferred.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
6. Thorough knowledge of IAS and IFRS standards.
7. Experience with creating financial statements.
8. Experience with general ledger functional-end month-end/year-end close process
9. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
10. Interprets and applies key financial indicators to make better business decisions
