Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Corporate Development Analyst on a permanent basis on our Finance team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.

This team supports a wide range of strategic growth initiatives and commercial negotiations and enables senior management and boards to make informed business and investment decisions that drive shareholder value. We are looking for someone with strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and communication skills that is looking to grow and help grow the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).

What you’ll do:

• Assist with the evaluation of acquisitions / new business opportunities that support the CRS growth strategy which includes supporting the full cycle of the acquisition process and conducting industry research to analyze the viability of alternative business development opportunities.
• Support acquisition related processes such as confidentiality, analyzing financial statements, project due diligence, process documentation, and proactively identify improvements or synergies.
• Support the development of financial and valuation models to analyze projects and collaborate with members of the Finance team as required to evaluate and test models.
• Collect, verify, and analyze financial, competitive, sales, marketing, and other information about potential business partners; new markets, products and services; or other business opportunities so that the team has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational recommendations.
• Prepare documents and materials for meetings or negotiations with potential clients and business partners so that the information provided is accurate and appropriate for distribution to senior management, as well as FCL Zone and local Co-op teams.

You will work cross-functionally across the organization with the Business Development team, Senior Leadership, different Business Units and local Co-ops. You will report into the Senior Manager, Business Development on a team that strives to cultivate a culture of strong team relationships, collaboration, and transparency.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

• Have 1 – 3 years of experience in financial analysis.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Finance preferred (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
• Have exposure to project management would be an asset.
• Have exposure to financial modeling would be an asset.
