Senior Accountant Job Profile

Definition
To prepare and maintain financial records, media reports and management reports. To handle intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and payments. To help in preparing financial statement, tax filling and budget. Act and react in accordance with the company code of conduct and employee handbook. Reporting to the Chief Accountant and the Finance Director

Essential Responsibilities And Duties

  • Intercompany reconciliation on VD and BFC.
  • Supplier invoices reconciliation on VD system.
  • Work with media team on accrued sales .
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Managing Intercompany accounts.
  • Preparing accrued COS for month closing reports.
  • Posts data to various ledgers, registers, journals and logs following established accounting techniques and procedures.
  • Prepares & review accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes correcting entries.
  • Analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
  • Follow up regularly on A/R, make a good management for the A/P and secure a healthy and positive cash flow situation
  • Prepares and complete monthly closing procedures
  • Prepares financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
  • Analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations
  • Compliance with Procurement policy, Schedule of Authority and signatory authority limits.
  • Provides technical support to internal & external auditors.
  • Prepares and review detailed budgets, expenditure and any variations from budgets.
  • Responsible for closing books at year end upon completion of annual audit, and prepare year end reports for the Ministry of finance
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

QualificationsKnowledge of:

  • IFRS & GAAP.
  • Local taxation laws & regulations.
  • Computer accounting programs and applications, such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Dolphin accounting system is a plus
  • Auditing procedures and techniques.

Ability to:

  • Meet assigned deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, interna auditors, external auditors and client auditors to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and result.
  • Read and understand technical forms and receipts.
  • Interpret and apply Government and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Big four audit experience is a plus.
  • Very good in English.
  • Strong understanding of accounting practice.
  • 4+ years accounting/finance experience;
  • High detail oriented and organized in work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and in writing.
