We are looking for an individual to join us in this exciting role. The main aim of the Operational Technician is to provide a highly effective and efficient service, operating a range of specialist equipment: including high speed mail inserting systems, high speed ink jet printer & high tech card production systems.

Job Description

Your main duties will include:

  • To perform technical processes for the provision of professional printing, mailing and personalisation laser engraving of both chipped and non-chipped cards.
  • Manage & organise workload and technical resources in conjunction with colleagues in order to achieve agreed performance and quality targets and standards.
  • Deal directly with customers & stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Operate specialist equipment in line with Manufacturer and OSG Health and Safety procedures.
  • Raise and log internal engineer call outs as and when necessary.
  • To monitor consumables and ensure adequate consumables are available when required.
  • To complete daily logs and provide Manager with daily production stats.
  • Routinely undertake operational maintenance to ensure equipment is kept fully operational.
  • Ensure quality checks are carried out on output processed and the quality assurance is delivered and recorded in line with procedures.
  • To maintain Knowledge and Competence in the Production environment via appropriate training.
  • Requirement to work on both sites and in other areas within OSG when requested.
  • To build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships to support and meet Production targets.
  • To identify and submit suggestions for better working practices, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Data Protection, Security and Health & Safety, ISO Standards and OSG policies and procedures.
  • To undertake the relevant mandatory Health Surveillance Testing as part of the role.

This role will be based in Ty Felin, Swansea.

Additional Information

The vacant role is on a 3-shift system working a 5 day week at a time.

(Mornings 06:00 – 14:00 / Afternoons 14:00 – 22:00 / Nights 22:00 – 06:00) and attracts a 20% shift allowance. Night shift starts on a Sunday night at 22:00 (5 nights).

There is occasional travel between sites.

Interviews will be held week commencing the 6th November 2023.

This interview could be conducted face to face, details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
