Boulo Solutions is recruiting for a Accounting Operations Lead for a rapidly growing Silicon Valley start-up using AI to enable the transition to electrification and help solve climate change.

Pay: $100,00 to $120,000 per year plus benefits

A rapidly growing Silicon Valley start-up using AI to enable the transition to electrification and help solve climate change. The team includes the best of the industry in exploration geoscience, data science, software engineering, and business personnel. The company’s world-renowned geoscientists have made nearly 20 discoveries. They work on joint teams with outstanding data scientists, who have PhDs in physics, math, materials science, and geophysics. And our technology backbone has been built from scratch by our team of software engineers who are alumni of top Silicon Valley tech companies.
In this role, you will prepare the consolidated financial statements monthly, including intercompany eliminations and consolidations of foreign subsidiaries. You will be responsible for coordinating the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement footnotes. You will provide support to field exploration teams by preparing project and budget reports and providing support in vendor compliance. In this startup company, your role will be dynamic and your role and responsibilities will grow as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is the type of person who wants to get things right. Is VERY detail oriented and can meet deadline. This person wants to be part of a growing team and listens! Must be able to work independently and remotely without a lot of supervision. The company works globally, so must be flexible for occasional meetings in other time zones. Company does keep Zoom cameras on during the day for collaboration. Ideally this person has 2 to 3 years of public accounting plus industry experience.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Operations Lead will:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
Prepare/review monthly close reconciliations
Assist with implementing technology (Wdesk) to improve efficiency of financial reporting processes
Responsible for overseeing the financial reporting platform (Wdesk), including facilitating the quarterly and annual financial statements preparation within the platform
Support field exploration teams by preparing project reports and analysis of fieldwork expenses compared to budgets
Assist with preparation of all necessary monthly/quarterly/annual filings and reports for subsidiaries as needed
Assist with compliance of annual corporate reporting, tax filings and other reporting requirements in multiple countries
Implement and maintain new processes and technology as the company grows
Provide support for miscellaneous projects in accounting and operations
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Qualifications
The candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 7 years experience in accounting
Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
Consolidating financial statements, preferably with foreign subsidiaries
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to quickly learn new tools as needed and solve new problems continuously
A high degree of independence and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
Flexibility to accommodate meetings with staff/vendors overseas
Interest in contributing broadly to the success of the company and eager to pitch in where needed
It is helpful but not required to have experience with:
Experience working with international operations
Experience with Wdesk (Workiva)
Experience with technology or natural resource companies
