Metering Specialist
Job Summary
“We are looking to hire a Metering Specialist to work on a long-term contract in Basra, Iraq (Offshore).
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintain the terminal metering systems as per the guidelines of international industry best practice and applicable API MPMS standards and Iraqi National Code for Measurement of Hydrocarbon Fluids.
Provide support for metering operational activities that are undertaken by operator staff at the terminal to ensure the metering systems and associated instruments are in good working order.
Prepare work plans in accordance with the current calibration schedule.
Review and amend current operational procedures and calibrations to reflect the installed instrumentation and metering equipment.
Carry out checks and calibrations of installed metering instrumentation and equipment as per the work plan and schedule and issue As Found As Left reports as required.
Maintain the uncertainty of the metering system equipment and instrumentation.
Issue calibration/check certificates upon completion of the test/check.
Witness, accept meter factor and support meter proving during each loading and issue relevant report.
To monitor metering custody transfer measurement during each loading and issue report.
Analyze meter proving and submit control charts, performance curves and submit reports.
Verification of quantity calculations performed by operations staff after loading to verify metered quantity.
Approval of metering batch report and final batch reports.
Verification of all metering constants and configurations and safe storage of back-up copies.
Provide guidance and support to operational staff at the terminal.
Mis-measurement reporting, calculation and submission to terminal metering engineers
Any other ad-hoc request relevant to scope of work
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Metering, preferably with previous Offshore duties
Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or instrumentation
Knowledge with API standards, meter proving, compact provers and ultrasonic flowmeters and familiar with routine maintenance best practice.
