Minimum Qualifications:

BA Degree in Photography Art and Film Studies, Television or equivalent business experience.

Skills Needed:

 

• Be able to take professional photos of indoor and outdoor locations, as well as people.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual – English and Arabic preferred
• Detailed knowledge of photography art and lighting
• Strong creative presence and artistic flair
• Able to stand and move around for long periods at a time
• Drives towards continuous improvement and creative solutions
• Oversee brand standards, lighting techniques, and image quality
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms
• Ability to size images and color settings for the web and social media
• Technical acumen to be able to be able to operate, configure, set up, and fix video, audio, lighting, or other production equipment.

Responsibilities:

Photography:

• Work closely with clients and project focal points to produce high-quality photographic images based on the project’s objectives and needs.
• Operate various photographic equipment and tools such as single lens reflex cameras and film or digital cameras
• Keep equipment up-to-date, organized and maintained
• Solid knowledge in lighting, angle and compositional skills
• Use different techniques to enhance the photographs as required
• Use photo editing software such as Adobe Suite
• Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives
• Use artistic knowledge to enhance and compose photographs
• Review sets if photographs and select the best results
• Archives images and organize files
• Adherence to the HBKU brand guideline photographic style
• Maintain high standards for creative output

Videography:

• Film videos on set or on location
• Prepare background film, B rolls as well as live feed when required
• Interviewing people and creating a film clip via editing raw footage
• Develop promotional videos
• Document HBKU events
• Work closely with clients and project focal points to produce high-quality videos based on the project’s objectives and needs.
• Operate various videography equipment and tools
• Keep equipment up-to-date, organized and maintained
• Solid knowledge in lighting, angle and compositional skills
• Setup lighting and audio equipment
• Use video editing software such as Adobe Suite and other relevant software
• Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives
• Use artistic knowledge to enhance videos
• Understanding of post-production video editing techniques
• Adherence to the HBKU brand guidelines
• Maintain high standards for creative output
